Since 2007, sales of WaterSense®-labeled products from Kohler brands in the U.S. have achieved significant water, carbon emissions, and energy savings:

KOHLER WasteLAB™ Products

Launched in 2014, KOHLER WasteLAB is a material innovation incubator that repurposes manufacturing by-product into durable, handcrafted products that reflect sustainable artistry. In 2025, WasteLAB diverted 14.86 metric tons of waste from landfill. By combining technical experimentation with craft and care, WasteLAB has reimagined raw material, turning overlooked waste streams into products with positive impacts.

Kohler was built by creators, inventors, and visionaries. We place value on design, innovation, and craftsmanship, aiming to weave artistry into everything that we do. With a long history of supporting artists and art organizations in our communities, these efforts reflect our passion to contribute to gracious living through the power of art and design.

Arts/Industry Residency Program

Founded in 1974 by siblings Ruth DeYoung Kohler II and Herbert V. Kohler, Jr., the program has welcomed more than 600 artists in partnership with the John Michael Kohler Art Center. Built at the intersection of where art meets industry, this unique collaboration brings together artists and the highly skilled craftspeople who work in Kohler’s Wisconsin pottery and industrial foundry facilities. Artists are exposed to technical knowledge and industrial processes that enable them to explore new, creative ideas.

Trout Museum

Kohler MakerSpace artist Michelle Grabner was featured as part of the inaugural exhibition at the new Trout Museum in Appleton, Wisconsin.

A/I 50th Collective

The Arts/Industry 50th Collective is a rotating public exhibition and event space curated by Michelle Grabner. You’ll find the exhibition in The Shops at Woodlake in Kohler, Wisconsin.

Design Miami

Artist David Franklin inspired Kohler's new Pearlized finish. From casting through glazing, firing, and the physical vapor deposition (PVD) process, the Derring sink in Pearlized is handcrafted using the same process as Franklin’s art and debuted at Design Miami in 2025.

Kohler MakerSpace Resident: Patty Chang

Abyssal, a sculpture by Patty Chang, resident of the Kohler MakerSpace, an invitation-only artist residency, challenged perceptions of support and labor, while exploring themes of identity and societal expectations. In 2025 Chang exhibited her thought-provoking work at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

Providing Gracious Showering Experiences

Between Q1 and Q2, KOHLER® Relief Shower Trailers provided 2,482 showers—restoring hygiene, opportunity, and dignity with the help from our volunteers and partners.

From Education to Impact: Month of Water

In October 2025, we kicked off our first Month of Water to deepen our understanding of global water risks and opportunities. Education and activations throughout the month engaged over 8,000 Kohler associates.

Inspiring the Innovative Minds of Students

In 2025 we continued our restoration efforts in Jhagadia, India, to further enhance watershed health and long-term water security. What began as a focus on providing access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene in the region, has evolved to comprehensive approach of stewarding not only our communities, but the watersheds that collectively sustain us all.
